Get to Know Lena Klenke
Lena Klenke was born on December 25, 1995, in Munich, Germany. After being discovered in a school play, it led to Klenke’s first film role in 2010’s Das letzte Schweigen.
Even with her early career successes, Klenke continued her studies. She graduated with her Abitur in Berlin and studied sociology.
Rock My Heart – Mein wildes Herz
In the 2017 drama Rock My Heart – Mein wildes Herz, Lenke portrays Jana, a 17-year-old with a congenital heart condition. She is involved in an accident and is revived by a black stallion who has escaped.
After several surgeries and her life still at risk, Jana and her parents find it difficult to deal with the challenges and stresses of her condition.
But Jana cannot forget that black horse. She seeks him out and finds the horse at a farm for racehorses. The farm is on the verge of bankruptcy. When the racehorse trainer sees the bond between Jana and the horse, he attempts to enlist her as a jockey.
Das schweigende Klassenzimmer
Set in 1950s East Germany before the building of the Berlin Wall, Das schweigende Klassenzimmer is based on true events. The 2018 film, known as The Silent Revolution in English, tells the story of a high school class that remarkably decides to hold a moment of silence for the victims of the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, a failed anti-communist uprising.
Needless to say, in communist East Germany, this action would not be encouraged. And when word gets out, the government decides to investigate and intervene.
Klenke stars as Lena, one of the students. The cast also includes Florian Lukas as the school’s director.
How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast)
How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast) is a coming-of-age black comedy German-language streaming series from Netflix.
The series follows Moritz, a nerdy student who tries to win back his ex-girlfriend Lisa (portrayed by Klenke) by selling drugs online. The small-time business sees success quickly but dealing drugs online is not without its risks.
