German shoe company Waldlaufer have solved my footwear travel problems. When I’m on the go, I love seeing as much as I can on foot. That means that sneakers are usually the right footwear. But they aren’t usually cute and you don’t look quite as polished if you want to go somewhere nice. It seemed my only solution was to wear sensible footwear and ignore vanity. It seemed that way until the folks at Waldlaufer sent me a pair of their Dede Holma ankle boots to try. These super cute shoes let me travel how I really want: in style and comfort.
About Waldlaufer
Headquartered in western Germany just outside of Frankfurt, Waldlaufer make comfortable shoes that are lightweight, stylish and functional. What’s more, they are using environmentally-friendly and sustainable technologies. And while they do have factories around Europe, you can still count on them to offer that high-quality German craftsmanship that you expect. The quality is what has allowed the company to survive and thrive for nearly six decades. All in all, it’s an impressive feat.
The Low Down on the Dede Holma Boots
I tried the Dede Holma boot in red. It’s versatile for wearing when traveling, at work or just around the house. There are also small details like the layered leather panels and the Waldlaufer button. The boots also have a full, warm fleece lining and a removable innersole. In addition to the bright, fun red version, the boot is also available in black.
I wore them for a full day out and about the city at the art museum. Even though it was a long day, by the end I was still comfortable. There was no need to break-in the shoes. Just zip and go. The rubber sole provides extra comfort that you won’t get with most boots plus the boots are light on your feet.
Style & Comfort
What I like best about these boots is that you don’t have to sacrifice style for comfort. You can have it all. The bright red nubuck leather really pops, especially during the sometimes dreary fall and winter months. The leather is also practical as it is naturally waterproof as well as durable. The lace-up front of the shoes allow you to tailor the fit while the side zipper makes getting the boots on and off easy. That side zipper comes in handy during airport security checks!
And really, what woman can pass up a cute pair of boots? Certainly not I!
